TESTING THE TESLA

My Tesla mod from iVape.net arrived only 48 hours ago.  I’ve been using it non stop to get a good “first impressions” down.

So far I have to say it’s pretty damned impressive.  It’s not as jagged as it looks and feels very comfortable in the hand. It feels beefy, but not too beefy.  Quite solid all around.

The switch is clicky and the voltage up / down is easy to use.  Not sure why they decided to put the screen BELOW the buttons, it makes for the occasional awkward viewing angle when adjusting the voltage or checking the ohms of the cartomizer or atomizer, which can be done by holding down the voltage up button, very much like the LavaTubeV2.

Runs on a tried and true AW IMR 18650 battery and has an amp switch limit of 3amps.  Good for those strange times ( like today ) when I need to run a 2.0ohm cartomizer at 5.9v for some reason.  This mod will let me.

Not sure how I feel about the exposed battery chamber.  Sure it looks cool, but some decent discussion was had on the GrimmGreen Facebook page regarding battery safety.  Will it vent out the sides? will the battery expand too much and fill in those chambers? hopefully no one ever has to find out.

Like the LavaTubeV2 I have a slight “air flow” gripe with the Tesla.  The airflow feels even, just stiff… really stiff.  Same carto on the Bombshell stinger has a nice smooth “whooshy” draw.  But on the Tesla feels choked.

After I spend some more time with the Tesla I will report back on the good and the bad as usual.

::EDIT::
I’m ashamed of myself that I didn’t mention that the Tesla also has a variable wattage setting.  Hold the voltage up or (+) button for a full 8 seconds and you will be brought to a new menu.  Press the down voltage button or (-) to toggle between “VOLTAGE” and “POWER” settings.  the “POWER” is the variable wattage setting.  I can’t believe I forgot to mention that!
